Filming about cats

In keeping with the idea of including filmmaking stuff in this mix. Here’s a bit about my latest expedition to the wilds of Washington DC and Philadelphia as part of the making of our documentary The Lion in Your Living Room: a natural history of the domestic cat.

Just back from Washington DC where we were filming Carlos Driscoll who was explaining what genetic analysis tells us about the origin of the domestic cat. You can read details here.

Then we went to Philadelphia's Monell Chemical Senses Center to learn why cats can't taste sweet flavours and what that has to do with their domestication. You can learn more here.

In a few weeks we're heading to Israel with Carlos to take a look at the Mid-Eastern Wildcat the still surviving ancestor of your little kitty.
